Pulp&Fiber Presents Film Fashion F1
Film Fashion F1 is an experiential event that was launched by P+F and ViaGP in the fall of 2009. Since it’s inception we have gone on to produce 4 more events that fuse together the style and culture of film and fashion, with the exhilarating energy of Formula 1. Offering more than a red carpet event, film.fashion.f1 continues to deliver spectacular star-studded parties aligned with highly anticipated annual city events, where every guest is treated as a VIP.
We checked into the Thompson Hotel early on October 20th, ready to transform the lobby into a fashion playground, where Toronto’s top movers and shakers could gather to network and dance the night away. After months of planning and 10 hours of set up we had finally achieved the desired ambience, and the doors were open to receive our guests.
Fashionistas strolled the black carpet, while photographers John Proya and Julian Moniz snapped shots as they entered the venue. Upon entry, guests were offered a welcome cocktail presented by Hennessy Black, as well as passed canapé by award-winning culinary destination, Scarpetta. Within the walls of Scarpetta, a $75 prix fixe 4 course menu – featuring items such as Scott Conant’s famous Tomato and Basil Spaghetti and Ontario Kolapore Trout – was being served to dinner guests.
Co-hosted by The F-List, 2011 Formula Renault 3.5 Champion and Marussia Virgin Formula One reserve driver, Toronto-native Robert Wickens made a highly anticipated guest appearance. Recognized as the brightest Canadian driving talent, the 22 year-old Formula 1 star partied the night away in the Scarpetta dining room.
We watched as guests circled the room, inspecting the décor and offerings. Surprise spread across their face as they spotted a 60-foot runway with full band set up. Meanwhile, the green room was buzzing with Elmer Olsen Models, stylists and artists. With hair and make by Brennen Demelo Studio, styling by Maha Risi, and show production by Sean Kane, the show was a full 20-minute production featuring a live performance by rising rock band Crash Parallel. The highly anticipated PUMA SS2012 Lifestyle Collection (including pieces from the PUMA by Hussein Chalayan SS2012 Collection) was a playful celebration of youth and activity. The collection consisted of footwear, apparel and accessories inspired by the industrial dynamics of sailing and kite flying.
Once the show was complete, DJ Lazy Ray spun his crowd-pleasing blend of house and hip-hop, as celebrity guests such as model Stacey McKenzie, actress Cory Lee and singer Ivana Santili sipped cocktails.
