Earth Day 2013
Every year, on April 22nd, we’re encouraged to consider the way in which we see, treat, and appreciate the planet. Why? Because it’s Earth Day, dammit!
Established In 1970, U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson named this a day of reflection and action, and unlike the slew of other international “holidays” that aren’t rooted in religion or national history (say… St. Valentine’s Doom Day, for example) this is a “holiday” that’s actually worth celebrating. Even though there are no gifts or chocolates involved.
In fact, rather than giving expensive flowers today, you might want to take the time to plant a few, or at least stop to smell a couple on your walk or bike ride to work.
Keeping the planet green is something we’re very passionate about here at Community. And so, in honour of this day, we present our favourite environmental awareness campaigns. Have a look below, and let us know, which do you think is most powerful?
