FPO for Valentines Day
Valentines Day is coming up, so it’s time to place a dollar amount on how much you love your significant other. If you’re a man, like me, there is a lot of pressure mounting.
Some guys will go the safe (non-committal) route and approach the holiday with some cinnamon hearts, a ‘Will You Be Mine’ card, and the ‘Valentines Day’ DVD from the bargain bin at Walmart. But, some other guys, braver guys, might use this opportunity to ‘put a ring on it’ as that girl from the Super Bowl once said… Can’t remember her name… Destiny or something?
Anyway, although highly impersonal, carnations and Dairy Milk do have one thing going for them, and that’s the fact that they’re cheap as sin. However, sometimes, even those who are ready to take the plunge can’t afford to lay down the cash for carats. And you can’t very well ask someone to spend the rest of their life with you holding a wilted bouquet from 7 Eleven, and a bag of Skittles.
If you were looking to make this Valentines Day truly memorable, and you’re thinking you might want to pop the question, we have a cost-effective solution.
Working in advertising, we’re not always swimming in it, but here is an engagement ring that’s perfect for the struggling graphic designer who is still a romantic at heart.
Today, we give you The FPO Ring! FPO, for those who don’t know, stands for “For Placement Only” and designers use the term when referring to a placeholder image. FPO’s are only temporary, and are often replaced by bigger, better, clearer images later on in the process. At a price of only $35.00, anyone can afford to say ‘I love you so much, but it’s not the right time financially’.
So, now all you need to worry about is pitching the idea; finding the right words to use when declaring your love. But, of course, if that’s too hard, just drop in some Lorem Ipsum and call it a day.
